Hook Point Technology

BKK's commitment to creating the highest quality hooks possible means that we're constantly evolving and experimenting with hook technology. Through years of experience in hook making, we've developed several hook points which have been tried and tested with the aim to deliver better, stronger and sharper hooks.

HG - Hand Ground

BKK’s hand-ground technology gives the hook point unprecedented penetration performance. Using skilled workmanship to grind the traditional conical hook point into a triangular profile helps to reduce piercing resistance, meaning enhanced penetration and increased penetration speed. Because of this, our hand ground hooks resist wear and bending for longer.

CD - Cutting Delta

The design concept behind the ‘Cutting Delta’ point originates from a military triangular sword. We shape the sides of the hook point to an equilateral triangle which provides good penetration performance and an increased piercing speed over traditional hook points.

CB - Cutting Blade

Our Cutting Blade Point is a sharp and flat hook point which continues the leading penetration performance that BKK is known for. Influenced by the design concept behind shark teeth, these points are suitable for heavy treble hooks, and can easily penetrate the jaw bone of large fish.

NP - Needle Point

This hook point appears on some of our smaller hooks. Due to the smaller surface area, the piercing ability of this hook point is increased, therefore is able to penetrate the mouth of a fish with less force.

CP Point

Designed around the sides of an inverted ‘T’ type hook point, this shape greatly increases the penetration performance. With the inverted ‘T’ groove, the hook can enter the mouth smoothly and the piercing speed of the hook is increased. The CP point not only reduces resistance when piercing, but also increases the abrasion resistance and folding resistance of the hook point.
